After years of collaborating with Inland University, Fynd Reality is proud to be a contributing partner in the newly established national research initiative, MishMash – Centre for AI & Creativity — one of six Norwegian centres awarded funding through the government’s “AI-billion” initiative. MishMash brings together over 100 researchers from 16 institutions, including music, design, technology, and creative arts disciplines. The centre will explore how artificial intelligence can enhance creative practices—while also navigating ethical and societal implications.

Why This Matters
MishMash focuses on exploring how AI can drive creativity, foster critical thinking, and support ethical innovation across the arts, public services, and industry. Fynd Reality adds value to this mission by bringing in proven XR training expertise — showing how immersive environments powered by AI can enhance learning, simulation, and creative processes. After years of collaborating with Inland University we
This includes:
- Sharing our experience in XR and immersive learning to help shape research activities at the Centre.
- Offering Fynd CORE as a platform for experimenting with AI in virtual training environments — creating a testbed where the future of learning can be prototyped and refined.
- Participating in workshops and strategy meetings to guide the direction of the Centre's research and innovation goals.
- Co-developing new projects that merge AI and XR — projects that might change the way people train, collaborate, and problem-solve.
- Helping spread the word, using our channels and partnerships to ensure the Centre’s insights and breakthroughs reach industry, academia, and public services.
To bring its vision to life, MishMash is structured around seven targeted work packages, tackling topics from education to creative problem-solving. But it’s the centre’s multidisciplinary spirit that truly sets it apart.
Through three interconnected research approaches — Create, Explore, and Reflect — the centre blends technological development with cultural insight. This means building new tools, experimenting with creative practices, and critically examining how AI shapes (and is shaped by) humans, machines, and society.

What This Means
Our partnership with MishMash is about more than research — it's about impact. We see this as a platform to accelerate Norway’s position as a global leader in AI and XR, while also creating real value for the people and sectors we serve.
The potential here is enormous. From adaptive learning algorithms in VR simulations to AI-assisted scenario generation, the blend of XR and AI could redefine how we prepare for real-world challenges.
With MishMash now formally launched as a national research centre, we’re excited to contribute to its journey. This collaboration is a unique opportunity to blend world-class AI research with practice-driven XR innovation — so we can build tools that are smarter, more creative, and more impactful.
