Welfare technology is foreign to many of us until we, or someone we love, might need it to help with challenges in our daily lives. That is why we, in collaboration with Fagskolen Innlandet (Inland Vocational School) and HelseINN, have created a virtual showroom apartment. We hope that this will provide information about the available technology. We hope this will lead to an understanding of their potential uses and possible ethical implications.
This technology consists of assistive, adaptive, and rehabilitative devices. It can for example be used by the elderly or people with different types of disabilities, among others. Welfare technologies are digital tools that support people in their daily lives and can make them and their families feel safer. It can also provide independence as well, helping people to live in their homes for longer without having to move to get the help they need.
As a result of our collaboration, Fagskolen Innlandet and by HelseINN currently use this application with their health care students.
